Javanese millennials in Indonesia embrace local language varieties their way

There have been concerns that more young Javanese in Indonesia appear to be less able to speak Javanese properly.

Numerous studies show that the language is starting to fade way, specifically its sub-system of High Javanese (Javanese Krama).

But what’s less observed is that many of the young generation of Javanese researchers, teachers, activists and public speakers are showing interest and creating movements to get back to their roots as Javanese people. Read more... >>>>>
